After years of artistic endeavors such as computer graphics, clothing design, crochet design and writing I found out that I really LOVE TO PAINT!

I use mainly high-quality oils but sometimes my mood says acrylics.  I get bored just doing landscapes so I vary the subject matter depending on my mood that day.  Sometimes animals, birds, abstract or surreal.   I paint the picture in my mind for several days and can sit down at my easel, pick up my brush and something totally different comes out.  I see things that need to happen in the painting and it always turns out much better than I had planned.

I paint very freely and only a couple of times have I drawn an outline before starting.  I like to joke about my magical brushes because that's what it seems like sometimes.  My hand holds the brush but I get so engrossed in what I'm doing that I lose track of time and when I'm finished it does seem like the brush took over and did the art.

Painting pictures is so easy for me.  I learned about art when I was in school a long time ago and when I started painting in oils everything I had been taught came back without a struggle so that makes what I do so much FUN!  A lot of natural talent helps, too.
After I finish a painting I place it on an easel that I can see from my favorite chair.  I just love to look at my artwork, especially in the morning when the sun first comes in the window and moves across it, lighting it up.  I hope to always paint pictures that you will like to look at when they are on the walls of your home.
